Roadmap: Discovery

As the world around them comes into focus your baby starts to gain strength and move around, you’ll find their appetite for discovery is almost insatiable. Chasing a crawling baby around the house can take up whole days, so equip yourself with plenty of interesting and self-directed activities for your baby to enjoy safely while you get on with your jobs. Treasure baskets are a simple, inexpensive way of creating a micro ‘discovery zone’ for your baby at home. Opening a lid, delving in, feeling around for what’s inside, finding new textures and sensations - these are the things that drive your inquisitive young adventurer and can be placed safely in a babyring or a few supporting cushions. Discovery bottles and other sensory activities that let children explore and get mucky and messy - whether its splashing in puddles or squidging shaving foam or shaking beans in a jar - are great free activities you can set up at home for your curious baby.
