Trigonos is a new breed of construction toy which moves beyond traditional wooden blocks to incorporate large scale constructions using fabrics and wooden sticks. This ethical Catalonian company produces a series of sets in natural woods and soft colours, which allow children to build multi-functional spaces and structures, anything from a small helicopter to a giant play house. Building with Trigonos challenges them to work with proportions, distances, volumes and angles, developing concentration, problem solving and collaboration skills. The finished constructions can then be used in their games, and once they have exhausted their imaginations, can be taken down and rebuilt as something completely different.
